Background:
Here at ETHOS we run full day and multi day trail bike tours across the mountains in Lao Cai and Lai Chau Provinces. You can ride with us on exclusive tracks and trails with beautiful scenery, great guides and choose the terrain; tight and technical or fast and flowing; or a mix of both! The variety of our terrain is a true trail riders dream offering everything you could want from a motorcycle adventure, hill climbs, big mountains, river crossings, 4x4 tracks or single trail. North Vietnam is gaining a name internationally for its diverse landscape and rich culture. If you want to ride your own bike and bring your own riding gear that’s cool with us OR if you want to use one of our new Honda CRF150 machines just let us know, we also have a wide range or safety equipment to suit almost every size rider.

Culture and Landscape:
The north Vietnamese highlands are a extensive limestone playground for dirt bikes and dirt bike riding. There is no better way to experience the best of what our area has to offer than to get your gear ready and start your engine. You will ride terrain varying in difficulty from demanding dirt roads, river beds, steep slopes, technically challenging trails, and some of the most scenic areas that have seen a dirt bike rider. Our routes assure access to remote tribal villages home to both the Hmong and Dao ethnic groups. Hilltops are lined with elfin forest, steep sided karst outcrops and mountains. Overnight trips also includes the incredible opportunity to stay overnight in a tribal home. This unique experience is a great opportunity to learn more about what makes the mountains tick and a truly immersive way of travelling.
About this route:
The grandeur and scale of the mountains and valleys of the northwest is unmatched anywhere in Vietnam. The rice terraces are higher, steeper, more dramatic, and less busy than other areas of Vietnam. However, such is the weather in this region, that you may find it difficult to see more than a few metres in front of you. But, even in the mist, cold and rain, there’s still a sublime bleakness and majesty up on the high passes.
