Trashtrekkers Sapa

Trashtrekking is the concept of cleaning up the world while travelling. It is a tool for generating a stronger link between travellers, a place, local people and other tourists. We want to engage and inspire Youth, families, businesses and communities to take action in changing the way we dispose of our waste and the way we look at our local community spaces.

It’s no secret that Southeast Asia has a serious litter problem and ETHOS want to be a positive part of the solution.  On the first day of every month, we offer a unique, yet special experience. Available for up to 10 people, we provide a trek with a difference and the opportunity to both learn and educate. Walk with our ETHOS ethnic minority guides through the famous rice terraces and bamboo forests, collect plastic waste along the way, stop off for some traditional food in a a local family home and all for only $20 per person.

Trashtrekking will bring a whole new meaning to your time in Sapa. Our model strives to minimise the negatives of tourism, while maximising the positives.  People can be very critical of the damaging effects of tourism on the environment, you will be able to hold your head high and know that you did your bit to contribute to a cleaner world.

Food, water, transportation, entrance fees and guide included.
