Butterfly Valley BBQ - family lunch experience
Experience code: EthosButterfly
When you travel with children you are giving something that can never be taken away… experience, exposure and a way of life.
- Duration: 5 hours - 10am to 3pm (approx.)
- Travel Style: Child friendly cultural immersion, food and foraging adventure.
- Scenery: mountains, streams, minority villages, forests and waterfalls.
Nature is a tool to get children to experience not just the wider world, but themselves. Located just a stones throw from Sapa town, this hidden valley is lined with peach trees and intersected with a babbling stream. This experience is designed as a way to create opportunities for kids to play with similarly aged Hmong or Dao minority children in a safe and friendly environment.
Most children are inherently curious about cooking, and find barbecues fascinating due to the novelty of eating their tea outside and of course, being able to see and smell their dinner cooking from flames. This day trip allows for the exploration of the beautiful valley. There is a shallow pool for water games as well as a chance to help with the cooking and preparation of an outdoor meal.
The total walk distance, two ways is around 1.3km with an elevation gain of approximately 100 metres.
